Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

DesignDNA is a design system extraction tool that:

• Analyzes websites through a Chrome browser extension
• Extracts visual design information (colors, typography, spacing, components, shadows)
• Generates design system documentation files including Markdown, JSON, CSS, and other formats
• Provides a visual preview page of extracted design systems
• Offers export formats compatible with tools such as Figma, Tailwind CSS, and others

2. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using our service, including our website at designdna.site and our Chrome browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Plans

We offer the following plans:

• Free Plan: 1 full scan per account lifetime. Includes ZIP file with all export formats and preview page. No credit card required.
• Monthly Plans (auto-renewing): Pro ($7.00/month, 50 scans).
• Yearly Plans (auto-renewing annually): Starter ($39.00/year, 300 scans) and Pro ($64.00/year, 700 scans).

Plan features and limits are subject to change with reasonable notice.

3.2 Billing and Renewals

Monthly plans are billed on the same date each month. Yearly plans are billed as a single upfront payment annually. All prices are in US Dollars (USD). Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. By subscribing, you authorize Dodo Payments to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

3.3 Price Changes & Taxes

We reserve the right to change our prices. We will provide at least 15 days' notice before price changes take effect by emailing you and posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price. Prices shown do not include applicable taxes.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

4.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

• Monthly plans: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access to your plan until the end of the period you have paid for. No further charges are made after cancellation.
• Yearly plans: Cancellation stops the automatic renewal for the following year. You retain full access to your plan for the remainder of the annual period you have paid for. No further charges are made at the next annual renewal date.

4.2 Refund Policy

Monthly plans: All monthly subscription payments have no trial period and are non-refundable. Cancellation stops future charges but does not entitle you to a refund for the current period.

Yearly plans — 10-Day Trial: Yearly plans include a 10-day free trial period.

• If you cancel during the 10-day trial period you will be refunded, but we reserve the right to retain an amount if you used the service heavily.
• After the 10-day trial period, yearly plan payments are non-refundable regardless of usage.

4.3 Yearly Upgrades & Downgrades

When upgrading from the Yearly Starter plan ($39) to the Yearly Pro plan ($64), you will be charged the $25 difference. When downgrading from Yearly Pro to Yearly Starter, you will be refunded the $25 difference, provided you have not exceeded the 300-scan limit of the Starter plan.

4.4 Exceptional Circumstances

We may issue refunds at our sole discretion in cases of verified billing errors or extended technical failures that prevented access to the Service for more than 72 consecutive hours. Requests must be submitted to support@designdna.site within 48 hours of the charge in question.

5. Scan Limits and Usage

A "scan" is defined as one analysis request submitted through the Chrome extension for one website URL.

Users on paid plans are subject to server-side rate limits of 20 scans per day and 6 scans per hour. Unused monthly scans do not roll over. We reserve the right to enforce limits to prevent abuse of the Service.

5.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service for legitimate design research and development purposes only. You may not:

• Perform automated or scripted scanning without our written permission
• Resell scan results or generated files as a competing service
• Attempt to circumvent scan limits through multiple accounts
• Use the Service in any way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably determine are abusing the Service.

6. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service with reasonable notice.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
